Welcome and congratulations on your acceptance into the UNT Health Science Center's Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences!
Orientation 2009 Agenda
*Please note this agenda is subject to change
Fall Orientation is August 19-21!
Orientation is mandatory for all students entering their first year.

NOTES:
1). Punctuality: Throughout your education and in your professional career, the habit of tardiness is one of the single most destructive traits you can possess. We ask that you be on time for orientation, every class, workshop, and meeting that you attend. It is a matter of courtesy to your fellow participants, orientation organizers, and session speakers. All orientation sessions are mandatory unless otherwise indicated. Failure to attend every session may result in dismissal.
2). Attire: Dress for orientation is casual. However, it is important that you comply with the UNTHSC student dress code at all times when on our campus or off-site clinics. The direct link to the dress code in the Student Handbook is: http://www.hsc.unt.edu/Sites/StudentPolicyHandbook/Documents/S-UNTHSC-General-25DressCode.doc. Please note that you will have your ID photo taken. Lunch will be served picnic style with ground seating.
3). Please do not bring a spouse, parent, guest, child, etc. with you to orientation. Orientation programs are designed for incoming students only. Any individual not accepted into a graduate program for Summer 2009 will be asked to leave.
4). We are required to test each student for TB. You will need to call the Central Clinic at 817-735-2228 to make an appointment with Student Health for testing and a follow-up appointment for screening. Be sure to identify yourself as an incoming GSBS student. Under no circumstances will Medical Sciences students be allowed to participate in the clinical practice preceptorship program unless the TB testing and screening has been completed. Preceptorships begin in June.
5). All meals served at UNTHSC include vegetarian options.
