Laurel Slezak joined the University of North Texas Health Science Center’s audit staff as director in November 2007 after serving as the associate director of Financial Reporting at the University of North Texas. Previously, Ms. Slezak was director of Investor Relations, manager of Corporate Modeling, and internal audit manager for NICOR Inc., and has audit and accounting experience in manufacturing, banking, and municipal government.

Ms. Slezak received a BSC from DePaul University in Chicago, IL and is a registered Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Illinois. Ms. Slezak is a licensed Texas CPA, a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), and a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA). She is a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors, Texas CPA Society, Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, Association of Healthcare Internal Auditors, Association of College and University Auditors, and National College and University Research Administrators.
