Description: The Physician Assistant functions as an expert within a defined scope of practice and performs selected tasked and service in collaboration with Senior Medical Director. The Physician Assistant is under the direction of the Senior Medical Director and Director of JPS Health & Wellness Center.
1.Collaborates with the physician in overseeing and coordinating the multidisciplinary care delivered to all primary care patients, to optimize quality patient care.
2.Monitors guidelines for the management of primary care patients and for ensuring that the services are delivered in compliance with the guidelines established by JPS Health Network.
3.Participates in the JPS Health & Wellness Center call schedule as defined by the level of expertise and center needs.
4.Provides care education to patients and families.
5.Attends Performance Improvement Program and Peer Review committee meetings as needed and be an active participant in the process.
6.Performs other job related duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
Preferred Education and Experience:
•1 plus years of experience in Primary Care.
Required Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training:
•Current licensure to practice as required by the State of Texas.
•Completion of unit specific competency based orientation program within 90 days.
Preferred Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training:
•Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), may obtain within 60 days of hire and maintained current throughout employment.
