All centers and institutes now under HIT
All UNTHSC research centers and institutes now will be included under the umbrella of the Health Institutes of Texas (HIT). The reorganization supports HIT’s mission to translate public health information and basic research into new models of health care delivery and positions HIT for more funding. See the new organization chart for the list of centers and institutes.

To facilitate HIT’s growth, Jackie Williams has been named program coordinator for the Health Institutes of Texas.  For more information on HIT, contact her at ext. 2460.

Mark your calendars: Employee Appreciation Day
The 2nd Annual Employee Appreciation Day is Aug. 27. Once again, President Scott Ransom and his team will don their aprons, serve up burgers (with a vegetarian option) and thank employees for their hard work. Lunch will be served in shifts on the Alumni Plaza.  Each employee will receive a T-shirt with a new design to mark the occasion, and EBAC will provide carnival games. Watch Campus Connection and Daily News for the day’s schedule and more information.

Reminder: Hispanic Wellness Fair tomorrow
The UNT Health Science Center and other area health organizations will provide free health screenings and information to thousands of North Texans at the 10th annual Hispanic Wellness Fair.  The event is open to the public on Aug. 2 from 9 am to 3 pm at the Will Rogers Memorial Center.
