OMT eases lower back pain
According to a study conducted at the Osteopathic Research Center at the UNT Health Science Center, Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment eases pain and reduces the need for prescription medication for people suffering from lower back pain. The findings, which appeared in the Annals of Family Medicine, were covered by numerous media outlets including D Healthcare Daily and US News & World Report.

Dr. Brandy Roane, Assistant Professor, Internal Medicine, was on FOX4 evening news on March 18 providing expert commentary on the value of power naps in association with a new business in north Fort Worth.

Applied genetics
Dr. Arthur Eisenberg, Chairman of the Department of Forensic and Investigative Genetics, was on KXAS Channel 5 evening news on March 5 regarding UNTHSC's role in collecting DNA samples from truck stop prostitutes for a bill introduced by Sen. Whitmire.

UNTHSC's role in using DNA to identify human remains for law enforcement agencies was reinforced in an article in the Corpus Christi Caller Times regarding bodies found in Brooks County, Texas.
