McQUEEN PROMOTED TO SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT FOR ACADEMIC AFFAIRS

Gregory McQueen, PhD, has been promoted to senior vice president for academic affairs at the University of North Texas Health Science Center.

Dr. McQueen now serves as the senior academic officer for the growing academic medical center. In this new position, he oversees all academic functions and facilitates collaboration and cooperation among the institution's three schools and their faculty.

In his 13-plus years with the institution, Dr. McQueen has held numerous positions, including vice provost for health affairs, associate vice president for institutional planning and health affairs and interim vice president for institutional advancement.

In addition to overseeing professional and continuing education, library learning services, student affairs, research, and information resources, he serves as the institution's senior compliance officer and has faculty appointments in all three health science center schools.

He also holds a faculty appointment at the Niagara Institute, an international leadership development center that is part of the Conference Board of Canada and the Conference Board of America.

Dr. McQueen received a joint doctoral degree in higher education administration and business from the University of North Texas in 1995. He earned a master of science in health education from the State University of New York in Brockport and received his bachelor of arts from Wilfred Laurier University in Ontario, Canada.
