dodash.jpg Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine students at the health science center are raising money for Cook Children’s Medical Center with the fourth annual DO Dash.

The event will take place at 9 a.m. Oct. 29 at the health science center and features a 5K run/walk through the Monticello/Arlington heights area of Fort Worth. A 1K race for children will also be held. Awards will be given to the overall male and female 5K finishers and the top male and female 5K finishers in each group. The race will begin at the corner of Clifton and Seventh St. All participants will receive a T-shirt. Race timing will be provided by Integrated Racing System.

A health and wellness fair featuring wellness checks, preventive education and osteopathic manipulative treatments will be held at Alumni Plaza, located at the health science center immediately following the race.

Race day registration will be from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. at the health science center. Registration fees for the 5K race are $18 pre-registration, $20 race day and $12 for health science center students. The fee for children is $5 for the 1K race, and ages 7 and under can participate for free.
